Legal
Privacy policy
Last updated 6 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Oceanphos collects through this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other laws that apply to us.
Who we are
Oceanphos is an independent media company. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@oceanphos.com.
Information we collect
When you browse the site, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to keep the site secure and working. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
When you apply for a job, we collect the information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, city and state, age range, laptop details, CV, and any links you choose to share (such as a portfolio or video link), together with your answers to the requirements checklist.
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
How we use it
- To assess your application for the role you applied for, and to contact you about it.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To keep the website secure and prevent misuse.
We process application data because you submit it to us for that purpose, with your consent, and to take steps toward a possible contract of employment with you.
Video submissions
If you share a video with your application, it is used solely to assess your application for that role and is viewed only by our hiring team. We never publish it, share it outside the hiring team, or use it for any other purpose. When hiring for the role is complete, we delete the video link from our records. Because the video stays in your own Google Drive or YouTube account, you can remove our access at any time.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run this website, such as our hosting provider, under their obligations to protect it, or where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
Application information for candidates who are not hired is deleted within six months after hiring for the role is complete. If you are hired, your information becomes part of your employment record. You can ask us to delete your application sooner.
How we protect it
Application data is stored on secured servers and is accessible only to authorised members of our team through a password-protected area.
Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent, and you may object to how we use it. To make a request, email contact@oceanphos.com. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
